Honeycomb ​

Send observability data to Honeycomb for distributed tracing and debugging.

Prerequisites ​

  • Honeycomb account
  • API key with write permissions

Setup Instructions ​

Step 1: Get Honeycomb API Key ​

  1. In Honeycomb, navigate to Team Settings
  2. Create or copy an API key
  3. Note your dataset name

Step 2: Configure Destination in Datable ​

  1. Navigate to Destinations in Datable
  2. Select Honeycomb
  3. Provide configuration:
    • Destination Name: A descriptive name
    • API Key: Your Honeycomb API key
    • Dataset: Target dataset name
    • API Host: Honeycomb API endpoint (if not default)
  4. Click Save

Configuration Options ​

  • Event Sampling: Configure sampling rate
  • Batch Size: Events per batch
  • Custom Fields: Add metadata fields
  • Timestamp Field: Specify time field

Troubleshooting ​

Events Not Appearing ​

  • Verify API key is valid
  • Check dataset name
  • Review rate limits

Missing Fields ​

  • Check field name formatting
  • Verify data types
  • Review field limits
