Slack ​

Send alerts and notifications to Slack channels when specific events or conditions are detected in your data.

Prerequisites ​

  • Slack workspace with administrative access
  • Ability to create Slack apps or webhooks

Setup Instructions ​

Step 1: Create Slack Integration ​

  1. Create a Slack App or Incoming Webhook in your Slack workspace
  2. Note the webhook URL or OAuth token

Step 2: Configure Destination in Datable ​

  1. Navigate to Destinations in Datable
  2. Select Slack
  3. Provide configuration:
    • Destination Name: A descriptive name
    • Webhook URL: Your Slack webhook URL
    • Channel: Target channel (e.g., #alerts)
    • Username (optional): Bot username
    • Icon (optional): Bot icon emoji
  4. Click Save

Configuration Options ​

  • Message Format: Customize notification format
  • Alert Conditions: Define when to send notifications
  • Rate Limiting: Prevent notification flooding
  • Message Grouping: Batch related alerts

Troubleshooting ​

Messages Not Appearing ​

  • Verify webhook URL is correct
  • Check channel permissions
  • Test webhook connectivity

Rate Limiting ​

  • Slack has rate limits for incoming webhooks
  • Configure batching to reduce message frequency
